Central Christian School

Trinity Church opened our preschool in October, 2005, with an early childhood program for children ages three and four. We are located in Mililani on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii. We now offer two classes.

As our facilities grow, we plan to add an after school program and a homeschool resource center to assist Christian families in the education of their children.  We have a master plan that will allow us to add classes through high school.Central Christian School is designed to minister to families who have chosen to become more involved in the education of their children, providing resources, counsel, and testing services.  We are a Christian school working with parents as an extension of the child's home. Our special desire is to assist families who are seeking to raise their children to honor the Lord Jesus.  We desire to see these children learn to think analytically, to develop a Christian world and life view, and become servant-leaders in their communities and the world. Children at Central will be viewed as persons of great value who love to learn, reflecting the image of their Creator.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

PHILOSOPHY

God loves children. He has entrusted them to parents for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical development.

The purpose of Central Christian School is to assist parents in providing children with a God-centered education in which the Lordship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged in every aspect of life and learning.

We believe that children are created uniquely. They are naturally inquisitive and desire to learn, but they need loving guidance and encouragement. TCS offers a solid academic foundation with a combination of traditional and innovative approaches. Children will learn the importance of honesty, personal initiative, and respect for authority as well as love for God and others.

Central Christian School provides an alternative to parents who want their children educated in a Christian atmosphere by committed Christian teachers . We seek to help each child become what s/he can be by God's grace

The mission of Central Christian School is to partner with families and the church by providing a Christ centered evangelical school which challenges the intellect, strengthens the body, nurtures the spirit, and shepherds the heart, so that all students may come to love Christ and grow in faith, wisdom, and knowledge.

Principles That Determine What We Do As A School:

1. God has given parents the primary responsibility for the education of their children; thus the school is to function as an extension of the home.2. Children of Christian parents are to be trained and nurtured primarily by their own parents, but also receive assistance and encouragement from the entire body of the church, reflecting the commitment of God's people to support one another.

3. Children are a precious gift from God and made in His image. As such a child is a fearfully created person to be respected, nurtured, and treated as an image bearer with responsibility to God.

4. God, after establishing the world, gave His children the responsibility to subdue the earth and gain dominion over all His works.

5. God, after man fell into sin, provided that those who come to a true knowledge of God by repentance and faith will be able to enter a relationship with Christ which will enable them to understand the Truth and glorify Him.

6. Just as God disciplines those He loves, children need discipline from parents to develop godly habits that assist them in learning and living.

7. Understanding the Truth involves the acquisition of wisdom through the fear of God, not just the accumulation of knowledge. To deprive a child of truth is to deprive him of the opportunity to serve God.   In Central Christian School the reality of God's grace must accompany a commitment to integrity, diligence and moral purity.

8. Glorifying God involves children living abundantly for Him and serving others in their present vocation as students, not just preparing for a future occupation.

9. Academic achievement should not overlook the healthy development of the whole child in a proper environment. Young children (especially up to the age of 8) are better nurtured spiritually, emotionally and intellectually by their parents in their home. Among numerous benefits, the home provides opportunities to:

  • Spend time outdoors to explore and play safely.
  • Stimulate learning by doing, experimenting and observing.
  • Develop responsibility through working with parents in cooking, cleaning, gardening, and other household projects.
  • Model and imitate family values, rather than those easily adopted by children in other settings.
  • Have security, acceptance, and love from parents that cannot be duplicated by other caregivers
10. Respecting the proper development of the child, the school day of young children should be considerably shortened to allow more time at home.

11. Relationships are best developed and learning is accelerated in small groups. Therefore, the school designs its program to best produce such by keeping class sizes small and promoting a family atmosphere and a parental role of teachers.

12. Both teachers and parents should be continual learners themselves, as education continues through all of life.
13.  The homes served of the membership of Trinity Church are given priority in admission of their children.
