I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend.  This coming week will be short since there’s no school Monday and Friday we will have our field trip to the Wahiawa Long-term care.  This week’s field trip will be a good way for the kids to bring joy and laughter to the folks there.  The students will work on fun arts and crafts to bring along on the trip, as well as learning the letter “O”.

Thank you have a great day and looking forward to a fun week ahead!

This week’s Bible verse is: “O give thanks to the Lord; for He is good.”

As I mentioned previously, this second semester we will be focusing more on academics, and starting this week each child will be given a homework folder with the week’s assignment in it.  They are to bring the homework folder back on Friday.  The assignments will be very simple but just a reinforcement of the week’s lesson.

This week will be letter Nn week, so for Friday’s share day please have them bring an item the begins with the letter Nn.

Theme: Numbers, Letter N

Bible verse: “No one can serve two masters.”

Happy new year! We are excited to welcome our students back to school after our 2-week Christmas break. Please find the attached calendar for January 2012 which is available for download.

Notes to parents…

Kindergarten Information Meeting:

We offer an outstanding Kindergarten program, Mrs. Furusho will be holding a meeting for all 4′s parents. This will be a question and answer time, and she will cover the Kindergarten curriculum and timeline. January 18th at 8:15 am in the Kindergarten Class. We look forward to see what God has for us in 2012/13!

Field Trip/Community Service Project:

Wahiawa General Hospital Long Term Care Unit Friday, January 20th (time TBA): The children will visit the hospital which houses mostly seniors who are un- able to get out. We will sing several songs for them and make some cards and pictures to hand out. Many children are not exposed to the elderly and this is a great opportunity to bless others. We will be asking for only a few volunteers, so please watch for the sign up sheet.

It is time for Fall Enrollment:

There will be sign up sheets for those who will be joining us next year, and also to indicate if you will be moving on.
